Smart use of AI at Studio Tomas
If there’s one topic that comes up a lot these days, it’s AI. At Studio Tomas, I also make use of it — but in a considered way, and only when it’s the right tool for the job.
How do I use AI myself?
Many people use AI to write blog posts like this one. That’s actually something I don’t use it for — but I do use it to translate texts into English. Beyond that, I use AI on a daily basis to generate pieces of code. This allows me to work faster and more efficiently.
I only let AI generate code that is simple enough. Functionality that is structurally more complex is still something I largely build myself.
AI for clients
I’ve also implemented various AI features in client projects. These range from splitting foreign addresses into individual components such as street name, house number and city, to chatbots that can answer questions based on data within the client’s system.
In my most recent project, I collect data about sold items and combine it with available packaging options, allowing AI to determine which box is best suited for shipping the order.
No silver bullet
AI is not a silver bullet, but in many cases it can be extremely useful. I’m happy to advise on meaningful applications, but also on situations where AI is adopted too quickly — and where a problem can be solved just as easily without it.
Curious?
Are you curious how AI can be applied within your company to make processes smarter? Feel free to get in touch — I’d be happy to explain the possibilities.
