Save Time by Connecting Systems Smartly

Many companies use multiple software packages and cloud solutions at the same time. Keeping all information in sync across these systems often takes a lot of time. By connecting systems in a smart way, you can save a significant amount of time and always have the right data available, everywhere.

What Is an API?

Most modern software applications provide an API — but what does that actually mean?

API stands for Application Programming Interface. Simply put, an API is a way to programmatically access a software application. It allows different systems to connect and exchange data automatically.

Why Are Integrations So Useful?

Integrations between systems are extremely useful when the same data is needed in multiple applications. For example, consider a connection between your webshop and your accounting software. You certainly don’t want to manually process every sale in your accounting system.

System integrations significantly reduce manual work, such as copying data by hand or using export and import functions.

In addition, integrations ensure that data remains consistent across systems. When information is entered manually, there is always a risk of typing errors — integrations eliminate this risk.

Examples

Over the years, I have built many different system integrations. Some examples include:

  • Automatic order processing between webshops and accounting systems
  • Integrations between ERP systems and peripheral applications
  • Integrations between ERP systems and warehouse software and warehouse robots / lifts
  • Integrations between CRM software and email marketing platforms
  • Controlling printers from ERP software to automatically print packing slips in the warehouse for new orders
  • Creating shipping labels with carriers directly from a webshop, including automatic label printing
